Suzanne Clothier

An animal professional since 1977, my background includes obedience, agility, conformation, Search & Rescue, therapy dog work, instructing, and breeding. My Relationship Centered Training (RCT) approach that focuses on humane, effective training, blending a science with a practical, commonsense philosophy.

I offer seminars throughout the US and internationally on a broad range of topics. I have presented for groups as varied as APDT, Wolf Park, Assistance Dogs International, training clubs & training conferences, and national specialties. I am a consultant to guide & service dog schools, incorporating my Enriched Puppy Protocol, assessment tools, and puppy raiser training programs.

I am the author of Bones Would Rain from the Sky: Deepening Our Relationships With Dogs, Your Athletic Dog, and many other publications & DVDs.

A German Shepherd breeder (8 generations) of dogs successful in multiple fields, I share life with husband John Rice and many animals on a farm in upstate New York.
